He pushed through social media, saying, “An Industrial Intelligence city coming up in Uttarakhand will be one of the biggest milestones toward state manufacturing capabilities and economic development. This initiative as taken forward from this region is going to develop huge investment and a countable number of job opportunities.
In addition, NICDP will attract investments into Smart City projects, Large Industries, and MSMEs, fully realizing the target of the government to achieve a $2 trillion export economy by 2030, as envisioned for an ‘Aatmanirbhar’, globally competitive India.
Industrial Smart Cities Across the Nation
The central government, during a cabinet meet, decided to develop industrial smart cities in 12 cities across various states with a total investment of ₹28,602 crores. The new cities will be developed as greenfield smart cities meeting international standards, incorporating concepts like “plug-and-play” and “walk-to-work” in an approach toward the objective of ensuring advanced and sustainable infrastructure in the cities for efficient operations of industries.

The projects will also involve the introduction of infrastructure required for multimodal connectivity under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, providing for easy movement of people, goods, and services.
Employment Opportunities and Economic Growth
These cities are to become a strong catalyst for regional development and transformation, therefore leading to significant economic and social progress. The NICDP is expected to create around 1 million direct jobs and up to 3 million indirect jobs through planned industrialization, hence addressing unemployment in the region.
